Are You Maximising Your Time Being Visible?

There are over 80,000 ways to market your business apparently, it’s no wonder we get overwhelmed with where to start.

But how do you know if the ways you’ve chosen are the right ways for your business to grow?

Well this is where being strategic in your business will really serve you. In this post, I’m going to share a simple 6-step plan to help you maximise the time you are being visible.

One of my lovely business friends, Jo Bendle, said something that really stuck with me a few years ago. She said, “Everything in business is an experiment.” She’s so right.

If you really want to get great results with your visibility then you want to make sure you’re doing the right things. This is where testing comes in.

So, let’s treat this whole visibility thing as a mini project. In my Rock Your Visibility programme, one of the key things that we do is focus only on ONE single area of visibility a month. Why do we do this? Because if you don’t stick at something for any amount of time, how can you know if it’s working or not, or whether you even enjoy it? By honing in on one area, you can then decide whether it’s worth pursuing for longer.

Now, let me be honest here – doing something on visibility for one month isn’t going to create massive growth. The growth will come from being consistent with your efforts, but it’s a really good start.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Choose One Area of Visibility To Focus On

Here’s a list of things you could choose from to get you started:

  • Blogging
  • Video
  • Training – webinars, group workshops, etc.
  • Group connection
  • Newsletters
  • Networking
  • Content Creation
  • Storytelling
  • Facebook Groups etc.
  1. Do A Mini Review
  • What are you currently doing on this area?
  • What’s working / What’s not?
  • What would be great new things to test out?

(Notice your numbers because they are great things to measure later –  how much are you doing right now, i.e. 1 blog post a month)

  1. Set Yourself One Really Clear Goal To Focus On
  • Think about what you want to achieve this month
  • Make sure it’s a super measurable goal (that way you can check your progress at the end of the month)
  • What do you want to achieve by the end of the month?
  • What will you be/do/have when you’ve hit your goal?
  • How do you want to feel?
  • What steps do you need to take that will help you achieve your goal?
  1. Brainstorm

Brainstorm lots of ways that you could improve your visibility on that area for the month

  • What support/resources do you need?
  • What system(s)/process(es) would help you manage this area better?
  • What do you need to stop/start/continue?
  • What do you need to do/create to move forward on this area this month?
  1. Manage Your Mindset
  • How will you manage your mindset to keep your vibes high for the month?
  • Maybe you need to uplevel your skills around this chosen area
  • Maybe you need to notice what you tell yourself around this topic when you take action
  1. Put In Some Milestones
  • What milestones can you put in place throughout the month so that you know you’re winning?
  • How will you celebrate your successes?
  • (Remember successes aren’t just the big things, celebrate the small wins too)
  • Who will you share your wins with? (Much better if it isn’t just you that knows!)

Here’s a quick recap of this simple 6-step plan to help you maximise the time you are being visible.

  3. Set yourself one really clear goal to focus on
  4. Brainstorm lots of ways that you could improve your visibility on that area for the month
  5. Manage your mindset
  6. Put in some milestones
