My name is Ruby McGuire, Visibility Diva, aka Queen of Connection. I help service-based solopreneurs to stop hiding and get connected, visible and profitable.
I’m an introvert so understand what it’s like when you know you need to be more visible in your business, but let’s be honest it’s not completely comfortable. Us British aren’t very good at selling ourselves, don’t you know! We don’t like doing all that ‘hustle’ but want to share our businesses in a quietly fabulous* way, without feeling as though we’re over promoting ourselves.
*(If you’re a guy or gal and ‘don’t do’ the word fabulous then please feel free to replace that with awesome!)
I teach my clients how to be more confident, get connected with their dreamies (ideal clients), message and tribe, raise their visibility and build a profitable business.
I’m a self-confessed chocoholic (although now chocolate hits are usually sugar free healthy cacao versions) and vanilla coffee addict (still fully loaded caffeine), preferably cappuccino please! Married to my soul-mate, I’m a Mum of a teenage daughter and two grown-up step-daughters. We live in Berkshire, UK, with our little dog, Lulu.
The more professional bit… Prior to Coaching, I worked in HR for 11 years with my last role, as Head of HR, that encompassed all aspects including training, recruitment and employment law. You may have seen my work in the International Coaching News Magazine and Inspired Coach Magazine, plus various guest posts/articles. I’m a Co-Author of Awaken Your True Potential and head up the Business Support section of IIC & M’s (International Institue of Coaching & Mentoring) Invenio Magazine.

My work with Service-Based Solopreneurs
I’ve spent a large chunk of my time as a Coach for Coaches. Over time, my business evolved and along with it, my client base, so I ‘rebranded’ as a Visibility Coach for service-based Solopreneurs. I encourage my clients to stop hiding their fabulousness and to shine brightly both on/offline. Through a combination of coaching, mentoring and training I give them the tools, confidence, support and butt kicks to rock their visibility and grow a business they love.
When you’re being visible you’re putting yourself at the front of your business. People need to know, like and trust you and they can’t do that if you don’t ‘show up’ and share your business. I help my clients with the practicalities of getting super clear on their ideal clients, knowing what to offer and then teaching tools and strategies to spread the word and grow their businesses.
Here’s what some of my clients have to say about working with me…
“Ruby was recommended to me by a trusted friend who’d had great results when working with her (always the best way to choose a coach, don’t you think?!) and I feel like I’ve got a new secret weapon to help me move forward both personally and professionally. I love the way she combines self-care with creating a business around my life. Ruby has gently coached me to create new programmes and online sessions, including my Blogging Power Hour, which is already a huge success before I’ve even done the big launch! Thank you Ruby for your gentle nudges, insightful questions and support so that I can continue to craft a business that I’m truly in love with.” – Kate Marillat – Kate Marillat.com
“Ruby, the least I can do is buy you a cheese sandwich. You’ve changed my life” – Mary Keeley, The Bodacious
“Ruby, that was an amazing 20 minutes! So many lightbulb moments in a short time, and I’m already working on my welcome mat and new packages. Just the help and kick up the butt I was looking for, but delivered with a smile and your amazing warmth and humour. No more bananas and socks for me! Love that you’ll be holding me accountable, and will be back for another session!” – Liz Melville – Liz Melville.com
If you’re a Solopreneur running your own service-based business and want some help to be more visible both on and offline, then I’m your girl.
When I’m not working you will find me spending quality time with my family, reading, making handmade cards, doing crochet and other crafty yumminess or taking my little dog out for walks. I’m also mad about Pinterest so if you love to Pin too look me up!
My Life Experience
So who am I really? Trust me when I say I have been through the mill and come out the other side, with more life experience than I’d care for! I could write a book on life alone! I like to think though that these experiences have shaped who I am as a person and they also enable me to help others because I do actually ‘get it’.
I’ve been through a split parent family, divorce, redundancy, childbirth (the most painful of all of those scenarios), weight & self-esteem issues, bereavement and have even run my own HR Consultancy for a while.
I’ve been a single Mum working hard to keep the balance between being a good parent, running a home and juggling a demanding career.
My friends like to remind me I made a success of all three.
I then went on to find a happy relationship with my soul-mate (now husband), achieved a high level in my HR career and have experience working in the weight loss industry. Despite debilitating health issues, I chose to retrain in Coaching and create the life I’ve always wanted along the way.
I’m a great believer that you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it, providing you take small action steps towards making the magic happen. This is exactly what I teach my clients and anyone else who cares to listen!
My BIG mission is to rid the world of grumpy people! More people coached = More happy people. Ta-da – mission accomplished!
All of my experiences; good and bad; put me in a position where I can understand my clients, you and where you are right now. There aren’t many things in my life or business that I haven’t come across and ‘getting it’ is one thing that I do well. I don’t judge, I just guide and support.
I run my business the same way I live my life; with courage and patience. I see a problem and work on practical steps to overcome it.
It’s my mission to help my clients be the best version of themselves that they can be. I’m told I rock at working in the present moment and moving things ahead swiftly and easily with a sprinkling of fun (if something doesn’t make you smile – why do it?).
I talk about my clients a lot because I’m proud of what they’ve achieved and pretty proud of myself for being in a position where I can help them.
Coaching isn’t just a career path for me. It’s a way for me to use all my experiences, knowledge and skills in a way that helps people like you.
